Pyro will win the Kentucky Derby

Pyro came into Keeneland like Jesus into Jerusalem. His disciples and followers couldn't get enough of him. Praises and a coronation as the one to beat in the Bluegrass seemed almost like Mike Tyson getting into the ring against Buster Douglas.

At the top of everyones pre Derby picks, Pyro didn't run a lick and struggled over the Keeneland Polytrack to finish 10th. Fans expecting to see Pryo throwing sparks down the lane were treated with a douse of cold water on a once bright flame.

Is the dream over for Pyro? Hardly...

Tracksideplayer.com thinks Steve Asmussen might be playing a little 'possum. Having already assured himself a spot in the starting gate at Churchill downs on May 3, Pryo's connections didn't want him to be wound tight for the bluegrass as the bigger prize awaits. He is Risen!!

With a Kentucky Derby field shaping up with plenty of front running speed from the likes of Big Brown, War Pass, Monba and Bob Blackjack, Pyro will be picking off the bit chuckers as they straighten for home. This race sets up perfectly for his devastating closing style, plus he'll be back on his preferred dirt surface.

Asmussen will reach into the hat and pull out the white rabbit as a confused public and media will be left shaking their heads and tearing up win bets on Big Brown.

The only other horse Pyro has to worry about is Colonel John who also sports a similar closing kick. Pryo will prove to be a tremendous value as the public falls in love with the prep winners as the media has to talk up thsese horses.

Pyro wins the Kentucky Derby by 3 over Colonel John and War Pass.
